Paul has 20 years of international education experience in Switzerland. He was the Director of one the top bilingual schools in Geneva.
The people below are based at Copperfield's Verbier campus.
Founder and dean
Hugh studied at Oxford University, where he was awarded a First Class Bachelor’s in PPE, and a Master’s and Doctorate in Political Philosophy. He was awarded a Fellowship from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and was also a choral scholar, President of Vincent's Club and represented the university at rugby and athletics.

John is a business leader who was educated at Oxford, Paris, and Stanford. He co-founded Verifone in 1985. He founded 4 other public companies and is Chairman of AML Analytics Group, a leading FinTech. Copperfield is the latest of his visionary projects.

With over ten years of educational leadership experience in Germany and Switzerland (including Verbier), Susanne will bring great expertise in German, PE and Geography. Next to her great passion for skiing, in which she has the highest level of instructor qualification, Susanne loves a challenge: at the first Spartan Race in Verbier, she participated with great success.
As a psychology lecturer at St Clare's College, Oxford, as school psychologist at John Lyon School and Harrow School, and as senior administrator/mediator of conflict at Loyola College and Concordia University, Grendon brings vast experience as a teacher, counsellor, manager and mediator and psychologist of over 40 years. He is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) since 1992, and former member of Canadian Associations of Counselling and Psychotherapy. He joins Copperfield as a parent-family educator working with families, teachers and pupils.

Meet Our Teachers
Ms Gabrielle Saperia
Gabrielle achieved a First Class BA in Economics and Management at the University of Oxford. She has worked in project management and consulting, and trained in acting, singing and dancing from the age of 8, having performed on stage at The O2 Arena and the Royal Albert Hall London. She is an active sportswoman including in netball, boxing, croquet and basketball, and is dedicated to community service activities.
Mr olli riley
Olli has a First Class BA in Human, Social and Political Science from Cambridge University. A qualified TOEFL practitioner and experienced tutor of Economics, History, Government and Politics, Olli also debated frequently at the Cambridge Union. He has a passion for athletics and was Men’s second team captain and social secretary of the athletics club of Cambridge University.
Ms Tiwalolu Adebayo
Tiwa is English/French bilingual and has a BA in Theology from Cambridge University. An experienced communications professional, she has Grade 8 Piano and has taught students up to Grade 4. Don’t be surprised when you see her doing an early morning run: she was captain of Athletics at Cambridge, a national lacrosse championship finalist and a junior international athlete in 100m.
Mr Leonardo Ackerman
Leo has a BA in History from the University of Oxford, where he captained the Blues football team, as well as leading other student initiatives, such as a panel with world-renowned academics and novelists. He has taught previously at UCS, a top London school. On top of Leo’s historical interests, which led to him travelling to the U.S. to research his thesis on the civil rights movement, he is particularly interested in cinema, literature and photography.
Dr Carrie beadle
Carrie has a BA in Natural Sciences and MSc in Physics from Cambridge University, and a PhD in Physics from EPFL. By teaching and supervising students, Carrie found explaining and exploring scientific ideas the most rewarding aspect of her work. She is excited to share her enthusiasm for science and math with our students. Carrie is bilingual English/French, and she has grown up with alpinism and ski mountaineering and has great passion for the mountains.
Ms Céline Duport
Having taught for more than 6 years in Verbier, Celine looks forward to meeting her foundation stage students. Next to the classroom teaching, in which setting she is renowned for her warmth and kindness, she will be sharing her knowledge of the forest & mountains with the younger students in the new and exciting curriculum she has devised for our Forest School. She is bilingual English/French.
