Laura Bickerstaffe
Primary Teacher
Originally from Long Beach, California, Laura embarked on her teaching career as an ESL teacher in Seoul, South Korea, and has since worked as a food sovereignty community educator in the United States, bringing her passion for the environment to her students. In addition to her teaching experience, Laura is currently completing an M.Ed in Early Childhood Education from Moreland University, having received a B.A. in Environmental Geography from California State University, Long Beach.
Laura believes in a holistic approach to education, and strives to incorporate elements of sustainability, practical life, and cultural studies to her classroom She is passionate about helping her students become well-rounded individuals who are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to be global citizens, and is dedicated to creating a learning environment that fosters environmental stewardship, creativity, and confidence in each and every one of her lessons.
Laura is an avid gardener and enjoys spending time with her plants. She also loves designing and sewing her own clothes, embroidering, and baking yummy treats!
Laura speaks English and Spanish, and is currently studying French and Nahuatl.
