Meg Chamberlin

Deputy Head Academic

Meg is an open minded and caring leader with a passion for global citizenship education. Having taught across the disciplines in various curricula on five continents, Meg believes in promoting a deep sense of community nourished by open dialogue, and that celebration of diversity is at the heart of individual and collective success. Meg joins Copperfield following her leadership as Senior School Principal at a K-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Vancouver, Canada.

 

Meg earned a BSc (Chemistry) and BEd (Secondary Education) from the University of British Columbia prior to pursuing her MA in Human Security and Peacebuilding at Royal Roads University. She has studied Spanish in Guatemala, Italian in Florence, and is fluent in English and French, holding an Advanced French Language Diploma from La Sorbonne Université Paris.

 

Meg loves to explore different ways of thinking and living through travel, has visited or lived in over fifty countries, and has celebrated her experiences in her writing and photography. She is an experienced skier, yoga teacher, and climbing gym instructor, and you will often find her hiking in the mountains with her dog, or exploring the outdoors in downhill and back-country skiing, kayaking, and canoeing. Meg is thrilled to be joining the Copperfield family, and is dedicated to furthering its commitment to student-centred high standards programming, place-based learning, and the physical and mental health and wellbeing of all members of our community.
